Addition Facts to 5 app for iPhone and iPad

This is the first of two apps about ADDITION FACTS. It is intended for pupils aged 5 or under. It provides pupils with all they need to master addition facts from +1 to +5.

In this app you are given five pairs of pages and a summary page (where the pupil can demonstrate that they have mastered the addition facts from +1 to +4).

The first page of each pair is the place to learn correct addition in a fun way, by dragging and dropping number tiles. The addition facts are presented in one of three ways: (a) in number order, (b) with numbers jumbled or (c) questions reversed, so that the missing numbers have to be supplied.

The second page of each pair presents you with questions on flash cards. You can use these pages either in ‘play’ mode or in ‘test’ mode. Playing with the flash cards helps you to get used to how the page works, and testing yourself gives a target to aim for: i.e. answer all the questions posed in the shortest possible time with as few mistakes as possible.

In either ‘play’ or ‘test’ mode you can select one of three types of problem: (i) addition only, (ii) addition and alternating with subtraction, or (iii) finding the missing value “?” that makes the statement on the flashcard correct.

Each page has its own scoreboard where you can keep an eye on your success and progress, measured in terms of both accuracy and speed. The pages can be refreshed as frequently as you like.
